Getting ready for the dreaded string test.
Here we go!
A place to learn a new language, the Koehler Method of Dog Training, which is an entire language of communication between owner(s)/handlers and their dogs. Let the journey begin....
Here is Week 5, Exam #1, the Vickster’s Test. I love the sound of goats bleating in the background and the beautiful scenery in the backdrop!
Mary,
There are 3 posts on the Week 5 EXAM. Review all three, make your thread circles, pick your location and start practicing. Do expect Molly to have to do this EXAM multiple times to pass. It's a tough EXAM and the secret to success is the handler setting up the location, the level of distractions (low), and knowing what to do to help their dog succeed. This EXAM is as much about the handler's skill sets as it is about the dogs skill sets.

Molly LOVES food. If the tiniest crumb of anything hits the floor, she’s on it. So, I thought food would be the hardest to resist. She also loves balls and her oversized Kong toy she likes to drag around so I threw those in, too. She was so excited when she first saw the plates holding peanut butter, lunch meat, cheese and butter. Little did she know they were not for consumption! She soon found out the toys weren’t for play, either!
Redd charged those PIGS. What a stupid thing to do. So, I opted to work her AGAINST those pigs. She had surgery only 1 week ago, so I had to train without any BIG LL corrections. What a training session!

Now that you have passed the above EXAM, here's your Link to Week 5 Pop Quiz . PLEASE SUBMIT BY TOMORROW SO YOU HAVE TIME TO WORK ON YOUR Week 5 EXAM # 2: String Test.
Also, next Wednesday is Week 6. Let's do that during HHPR in the morning as we need a new environment to do that lesson. It's the shortest in length lesson in the FOUNDATION Course, takes less than 30 minutes.
Roxanne
Since Ruth is a spectator to ALL of this morning's training, I include that here as part of her continuing education and learning.
This is Week 5 material, the fix for the flared Sit
The first training session is rough as Ruth isn't sure, AT ALL, about the KISS Sit Correction.
Well, here we are at Week 5! This will be a very interesting week for sure. Today I met with Roxanne and Loni. They talked about and demonstrated what Week 5 entails.
Loni and Shadow are a great team. They demonstrated what the Vickster’s test looks like. Then there’s little Ruth. She was an incredible demo dog today. She even did things that she have not been introduced to at this point in her training.
