Tech Savy Lesson 1 - The Random Recall

The example of teaching the Random Recall for Lesson 1. Remember, the command is "Fido, Come, Here....touch, ok".

Fido = Dogs name

Come = Used here as a familiar word which will be phased out shortly. It is used here as a bridging word under dog learns new Random Recall command.

Here = A field term the dog learns which means - head towards me and don't stop till you get here.

Touch = Command given as dog is taught to 'target' owner's palm of their hand with their nose.

OK = Release word meaning "All done".

In a couple of week, the command will become "Fido, Here...touch, ok". Ecollar pressure is kept on constant (low stem pressure) until dog comes all the way back to owner and completes/ends exercise by following "Touch" and then "OK". Dog is learning it has the power to turn ecollar pressure OFF by doing the right thing.

Do help the dog this week, run them with a ck cord and if dog is not responding to ecollar pressure, pick up ck cord and bring them to you. Make sure when you do a Random Recall, your body is bend over and your hand(s) are open towards the dog to encourage them to return to you.
