The first Sit your dog learned is called a Passive Sit. Then your dog learned to do a SSIF. Then your dog learned to find heel position via the Left About Turn and the Finish.
This is a new Sit - The Active Sit. Active Sit is best taught on a small, elevated square board where when the dog is on it and doing a Sit, they only have room for a proper Tuck Sit.
Active Sit teaches good health as dog has to learn to turn AND keep its balance both to their right and to their left. Dogs, like humans, are one side dominant so teaching a dog to move both ways teaches balance, confidence, coordination and increases muscle strength AND coordination.
Looks easy to teach. It is not as you will immediately see one side to turn is much easier than the other side.
Make sense?
